Ellen Sweets, a journalist, formerly with the Denver Post and other newspapers, former Director of the City of St. Louis Civil Rights Enforcement Agency, author of the best-selling Stirring it Up with Molly Ivins and who has been described by one reviewer as “funny, irreverent, dedicated to social causes and a mighty fine cook,” spoke about the current threats to voting rights and their impact on minority communities.
